A workplace with the “wow” factor.
Representing countless incredible artists, performers and venues worldwide, the Melbourne office for the Global Entertainment Company client brings a sense of occasion, with moments of hidden ‘surprise & delight’ experiences as the space welcomes guests and staff.
Upon arrival, visitors are immediately met with subtle allusions to the live entertainment industry through the framed concierge styled after a ticketing window. Moving through the ground floor experience is one of euphoria and nostalgia, with nods to live gigs and performances. The work café & event/training space easily transforms into an event venue, with a movable stage, customisable feature lighting and large screen display.
Inspired by the set design of live acts, a canopy of bulbs covers the training area, ready to transform at night as the team host industry events. Rather than treating a breakout as a back of house space, the work café is celebrated as a front of house VIP breakout experience. As a communal feature, the space draws teams together to socialise and intermingle.
Set in the heritage listed Foy and Gibson woolstores, exposed brick, high ceilings and extensive glazing were treated as key design elements, paying respectful homage to the wool carding, dying and sorting history of the site whilst maintaining a level of edge which makes the Melbourne suburb distinct.
