Potentially the most challenging site we have ever encountered, the Bronte Duplex fronts onto MacPherson Street with water views over Bronte Beach.
To the rear of the site is a 3m high rock shelf with heritage significance. With two and three storey adjacencies, the proposal is for 2x three storey duplexes.
Taking cues from the undulating curves of the coastline, the building is anchored to the site with a stone base, and curvaceous balconies over. The corners of the balconies are solid to provide privacy to the occupants.
At the entry level are two bedrooms, each with ensuites and walk in robes, The mid-level consists of an open plan kitchen, living and dining room with the living room oriented towards the views, and the dining room connected to a rear courtyard with a plunge pool. The upper level consists of a parents retreat, set back from the facade to reduce the building’s bulk and scale from the streetscape.
Hot Black are excited for construction to commence in 2023 once the Development Application has been approved.
