This NSW Government Agency required an office space that promoted diversity, inclusivity and flexibility whilst also feeling warm and inviting to those that would use the space every day.

Renowned for a strong organisational culture, the key stakeholders recognised that the current working methodology did not reflect their progressive work style and the user behaviour of the team.

Initial stakeholder engagement and workshops were embraced to develop a series of overarching drivers to elevate the current workplace to a completely agile environment that supported the diversity of the team and the unique culture.

It was a significant move to steer away from the traditional typologies of a government agency and embrace a more natural position with an environment that enabled personalisation and active cross pollination between the departments.

Spaces were designed with connectivity at the heart of the team, whilst enabling floor efficiency and economical use of the financial parameters set at the project establishment.

Brand was challenged through the space and the aesthetic approach was developed to create a contrasting experience of formality and embrace a more natural tone to the space

As part of the design intent, there was a large focus on designing for a welcoming environment throughout the floorplate with a professional and transparent front of house area and a comfortable and natural back of house.

Hot Black acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation, and the Gadigal and Cammeraygal peoples of the Eora Nation, on whose lands we meet, share and create. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and honour the knowledges of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
