Hot Black worked closely with Alumina Limited on their new Melbourne Headquarters at Southbank, looking to the need to reinvent how the local team operated.
With a fantastic outlook from Level 36 (2 Southbank Boulevard), offering panoramic views of the city scape, the team worked diligently to execute on a stunning, contemporary and refined space for this top 100 ASX Listed Business.
With culture at their core, a homely and welcoming residential feeling drove the aesthetic direction. Alumina wanted to support their staff to work in multiple ways, and therefore informal and varied work- settings can be found throughout.
This office was to be designed as a showcase opportunity for Alumina. From aluminium production displays, through to the expansive views from the Mountains to the bay – the fitout maximised every opportunity for the client. This also included ensuring the acoustic needs were of high priority, and that clever storage solutions were integrated into every piece of furniture and joinery.
Integrating Alumina’s recent rebrand, the feelings to be evoked centred around natural materiality and an Australian colour palette; timbers of the Australian bush, deep reds of the natural rock formations, the aluminium undertone and oceanic blues.
Hot Black acknowledges the traditional owners, the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, on whose land we meet, share and work.
