Hilton Hotels is a multinational hospitality company that manages and franchises a broad portfolio of hotels and resorts.

Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, the brief was to create a homely and inviting office space for external guests and Hilton staff alike, with the intent of this project to be the benchmark for future offices around the world and emphasise the rich history of Hilton Hotels worldwide.

Upon entering the space, guests are greeted with a vista through to the neighbouring Pitt Street Hilton Hotel, which is framed as the focal point of the front of house zone. Having a direct connection to one of their paramount hotels was key to celebrate the connectivity of the workplace to the businesses successful offering.

The material palette was significant in unifying the workplace ethos to the existing calibre of high quality experience you would recognise in a Hilton Hotel, the methodology of creating a home away from home was reflected in a variety of spaces that embraced social connection, activities to thrive and rejuvenate and articulated with a design features that were soft and well balanced.

Having been named after other Hilton offices situated in the Asia Pacific region, each space is embellished via the use of graphics to celebrate its individuality and allows visitors to experience the story behind Hilton Hotel.

Working with the team from Hot Black has been an absolute pleasure. The team understood and interpreted our design brief perfectly, working within a strict budget and tight timelines, as well as the added pressures COVID-19 presented.

Changes and adaptations required throughout the project were taken on with a helpful, positive and 'can do 'attitude, with fresh design solutions continuously being made to ensure the initial narrative and design direction was maintained, while staying on budget and on time. The new office has provided the warm, welcoming and comfortable team spaces we'd hoped for, creating our 'home away from home'.
