Next project

This project saw Hot Black bringing together an interdisciplinary team to transform what was previously a childcare centre into a combined workplace and training facility. The new space was created to support Crown Sydney, a new $2.4 billion casino, hotel and residential development next to Darling Harbour.

A strategy to develop the shop front glazing was established in order to create connectivity between the built form and the pedestrian pathways whilst also enabling a future proofed solution to the commercial viability of the asset for a forecasted retail offer.

An interdisciplinary approach transformed the architectural upgrade to an arrival experience that drew from the business’ commitment to Australia’s first people and design gestures were implemented that reflected the ideas of dreamtime through the use of organic form and sustainable materials.

The connection between the architecture and the interior approach reflects the significance of the building’s surrounding environment by nurturing the history and the heritage of the local area.
